Experian report identifies Wandsworth residents as the UK's greenest
02-Dec-2009
Compiled for the Local Government Chronicle, the Experian research ranks local authorities in terms of the green attitudes and environmentally sustainable behaviour of their residents.
With more than 60 per cent of residents classed as ‘eco-evangelists’ – those who make a real effort to be more environmentally aware – Wandsworth LBC has the highest proportion of any mainstream local authority, with only the City of London scoring higher.
As part of its GreenAware research Experian created 10 profiles, ranging from 'eco-evangelist' to 'wasteful and unconvinced'. The report then compared local authorities on these two extremes, and aims to highlight the challenge faced by councils in fostering environmentally sustainable behaviour among residents.
