Environment - recycle sign

Government organisations have a pivotal role to play in promoting, supporting and targeting the reduction of carbon emissions to help fight climate change. Understanding the attitudes and behaviour of individuals and how these influence their carbon footprint is an important step in devising strategy and policy, particularly in addressing National Indicators 186, 187, 188, 191 and 192. Experian’s customer insight and local analysis helps you:

  • Understand the drivers on consumer behaviour that influence our attitudes and actions towards the environment
  • Quantify the environmental pressures associated with household consumption
  • Map the regional variations in behaviour and attitudes to assist in the optimisation of resource and delivery of target communication to initiate changes in consumer behaviour
  • Identify a set of effective policies to reduce carbon emissions at a local level

Experian looks at the drivers of climate change, working with regional government to model regional CO2 projections under alternative economic scenarios. For water companies we provide local level water demand estimates and forecasts that are based on the micro-components of household water usage. The model contains a range of scenarios to estimate the potential impact of climate change on domestic water demand.
